The shortest link to Denmark
Puttgarden - Rødby across the Fehmarn Belt is the shortest crossing between Germany and Denmark and the one with the most sailings. The timetable above shows exactly this route: Scandlines runs it around the clock at close intervals, by day and by night.
The consequence for planning is pleasantly unusual: you do not arrange the trip around the ship, you drive to the port and take the next departure. On the Vogelfluglinie between Hamburg and Copenhagen the ferry is more a section of road than an appointment.
What to watch out for in the timetable
The route runs all year, but the frequency varies. In summer extra sailings are added, from November to March the schedule is thinned out, and it can differ on public holidays. So check your actual date above rather than carrying over a frequency from another month.
For the opposite direction, switch to the return leg; each direction has its own list of departures.
With a vehicle it is the space on board that decides, not the departure. On holiday weekends the places for motorhomes and car-and-caravan combinations go before the passenger spaces do.
