Rødby port, travel and terminal
The ferry port is in Rødbyhavn on the southern edge of Lolland, where the E47 ends. Here is how to reach it by car or public transport, and what to expect at check-in.

Getting to Rødby ferry terminal
The Scandlines terminal in Rødbyhavn is at Færgestationsvej 5, 4970 Rødby, on the southern edge of the island of Lolland. Its location is straightforward: the E47 motorway effectively ends at check-in, and Scandlines owns the port facilities. For satnav directions, Scandlines recommends selecting “Rødby-Puttgarden Scandlines Check-in”.
Arriving by car
From Copenhagen, take the E47 south. At the Køge interchange, remain on the E47 towards Rødby. The route crosses the Farø bridges to Falster and passes through the Guldborgsund tunnel to Lolland. It is around 160 kilometres in total and takes roughly one and a half to two hours. Shortly before the motorway ends, take exit 50 for “Rødbyhavn/Puttgarden”. The check-in lanes are only a few hundred metres away, with signs for “Rødbyhavn/Ferry” throughout.
From Sweden, cross the Øresund Bridge near Copenhagen and join the same route. Plan to complete check-in no later than 15 minutes before departure; a 30-minute margin makes the journey more relaxed.
Arriving by train and bus
There is currently no train to the ferry terminal. The public transport journey has three stages. From København H, take a train to Nykøbing Falster (about one hour and 20 minutes), change to the local train towards Nakskov and travel to Maribo (around 25 minutes). At Maribo station, take bus 720R towards Rødby Færge. The bus takes about 40 minutes and stops directly at the ferry terminal.
Connections run at roughly hourly intervals, but they do not align with every ferry departure. Check the complete journey for your travel date with the Danish journey planner Rejseplanen rather than relying on fixed frequencies.
Check-in and boarding
The process for vehicles is the same as in Puttgarden. The blue lane is for cars up to six metres long, using number-plate recognition or a booking number at the machine. The staffed yellow lane handles longer vehicles, trailers, motorcycles, bicycles, travellers with reduced mobility and tickets bought at the port. Check-in opens two hours before departure and closes 15 minutes beforehand.
Foot passengers enter the terminal building, scan their tickets at the entrance to the access bridge and take the stairs directly on board. Allow five to ten minutes to walk from the building to the bridge; you must be at the bridge no later than 15 minutes before departure. Continuing from Rødby
