Vogelfluglinie timetable to Denmark

Puttgarden-Rødby across the Fehmarn Belt is the link between Germany and Denmark with the most departures. The timetable above covers this route only: Scandlines usually sails every 30 minutes during the day, with up to 45 departures each way per day; there are fewer sailings at night. Everything else about the route is on the Puttgarden-Rødby ferry page.

That makes planning unusually easy: rather than planning your trip around the ship, you simply drive to the port and take the next departure. On the Vogelfluglinie between Hamburg and Copenhagen, the ferry is part of the drive rather than a fixed appointment. With a vehicle, though, what counts is space on board rather than the departure: on holiday weekends, spaces for motorhomes and cars with caravans or trailers sell out sooner than passenger places.

First and last ferry, today's departures

The timetable opens on today's date. Departures are listed from the first to the last ferry of the day; those that have already left today are greyed out, and the next departure is highlighted. For another day, choose the date above; "Today" takes you back.

The frequency depends on the time of day and your day of travel. So check your specific date above rather than assuming the pattern of another day. For the opposite direction, switch to the return journey; each direction has its own list of departures.

Delays, cancellations and storms

Departure times are scheduled times. In high winds or during maintenance, Scandlines may move or cancel sailings, and the crossing may take longer because of the weather. Your rights in the event of delays and cancellations are governed by EU passenger rights for sea travel.

On your day of travel: is my ferry running?

Check directly with Scandlines on the day you travel whether your departure is running as planned. With a Standard or Flex ticket you can take another departure on the same day at no extra cost; what applies to each fare is on the Tickets & prices page. For questions about your booking, contact customer service.
